The Seed Treatment Technician works closely with the Plant Manager to ensure all seed being treated or treated and blended meets customer quality requirements.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  •  Performing work activities safely and in compliance with company’s Quality Management System (QMS)
  •  Perform all required quality procedures and documentation accurately and as required
  •  Determining accurate seed counts to set chemical application rates to meet customer requirements
  •  Operating seed treater equipment and/or RIB blending equipment according to QMS Work Instructions
  •  Perform regular treatment scale calibrations or verifications to maintain equipment accuracy
  •  Perform treatment accuracy checks to verify correct application is being made
  •  Accurately mixing seed treatment chemicals
  •  Maintaining an accurate seed treatment inventory
  •  Perform visual inspection of treatment coverage to meet company standards
  •  Thoroughly cleaning all equipment between treatment runs in order to maintain product integrity
  •  Assisting with maintenance on treating and blending equipment and all equipment used in the process
  •  Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  •  Complies with Latham Quality Inc. personnel policies
  •  Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Minimum Job Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Agricultural background is helpful but not required

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • Able to carry boxes and packages of supplies
  •  Able to complete repetitive movement of upper extremities
  •  Able to work regular hours as well as some weekends, after hours, and holidays
